"DEVONIAN GARDENS - CALGARY DOWNTOWN"

Only one touring day left and it was time to finish off our "Bucket List" for this area.  We started this Monday morning by driving into the city on our own, without being in a large touring coach.  Rod did a fabulous job of getting us to where we wanted to be (with a little help from his front seat navigator).

The City of Calgary is very interesting.  It is the only city I've been in where you can cover the entire city by being indoors.  And, they have some very upscale shops and boutiques here, as well as a variety of shopping experiences.  That is good if you know where you are going.  One really has to change their mind-set and think outside of the box.  But with the help of VERY FRIENDLY residents of Calgary, we got to where we needed to be.  This city has the friendliest people of anywhere we've traveled,  Coupled with that is the cleanliness of the city, as well as the California sunshine we brought along with us.  We were thanked many times for the sunshine!  And, they have some very upscale shops and boutiques here, as well as a variety of shopping experiences.

First up on our lists today was the Devonian Gardens.  It is on the fourth floor of the Toronto Dominion Building.  They have just finished a $4 million dollar renovation taking about 4 or 5 years, and just re-opened on June 27, 2012.  I'm sure the residents love going here when it is dark, gloomy, and freezing cold outside in the winter.  You will see by my photos how tropical this venue is.
