We traveled 234 miles today from campsite to campsite, averaging 12.3 miles per gallon. Actual travel time was 4.5 hours, with temperatures ranging from 67 degrees to 79 degrees upon our arrival in Cashmere, Washington. Our stops totaled about 45 minutes because of the border and construction.
I will have a few posts today, starting with our last look at Canada. Took us two hours to arrive on US Soil this morning, and in 13 minutes we were on our way again from the Border. If you can believe this, I had the Border Patrol Agent actually smiling after he started out being so stern. He could not believe how organized I was with the list of items purchased in Canada, etc. Agent asked Rod if I organized Rod on our trip minute by minute somewhat like the list was done. Rod said yes, that he was "whipped." The agent actually smiled and laughed. Then, our trailer went through a complete inspection, but was done by a female agent and very fast. Took one tomato from us. In a kidding way, I told her to enjoy it for lunch. We bought it 18 days ago when we entered Canada. I probably should have pitched it yesterday. But, it gave her something to do. She was born in Pasadena, CA and went to Fresno State University. Small world. That was 20 miles from here I was born and raised.
So, it's on to some photos from this morning as we look back to Canada with great memories!
