"WHIDBEY ISLAND, WA - 7/20/2012"

After a great day relaxing with hosts Chuck and Carol yesterday, Rod and I ventured over to Whidbey Island to visit with friends Diane & Bob formerly of Monterey who have relocated to the island.  Also visiting there were Tim and Gail who relocated to Squim, WA from Monterey about two years ago.  Rod, Diane and Tim all worked together at the City of Monterey in another lifetime!  After a sunny day yesterday, we were treated with rain today ... what can one expect ... we are in the Pacific Northwest.  Or, is that referred to as the NorthWET?  The home of our friends was 55 miles from where we are staying in Sedro-Woolley, taking one and one half hours of travel time each way.  We were gone from nine to five.

On this post will be some shots taken today during the gloomy weather as we traveled to and from Whidbey Island.  Later, I will add another post of photos taken during our visit with our former Monterey friends.  Even though it was gloomy weather, visiting with nice people brought internal sunshine!
