"CRESCENT CITY TO EUREKA, CA - 7/27/12"

Today was another gloomy, foggy morning in Crescent City as we left around 9:30 a.m. for a short drive of 85 miles south to Eureka where we will be staying for two nights.  Temperature was 55 degrees, dropping down as low as 51 degrees while traveling.  Upon our arrival it was 63 degrees with a hint of sunshine. The drive took us one hour 45 minutes, with The Road Runner averaging 11.6 miles per gallon.  Horrible, bumpy roads today ... guess we're really in California!  The afternoon remained sunny and warm and at 5:00 p.m., it was still over 65 degrees.

With such a short drive we are all set up before noon, so we will have a little downtime at the campground before going out for some afternoon adventures.  Here are a couple of posts from our drive this morning.
