"MONTANA STATE CAPITOL"

The core building of Montana's State Capitol was dedicated in 2002, having been restored to its original look.  At this time they brought back some very stunning stained glass and barrel vaulted ceiling over the Grand Stairway.

An interesting bit of trivia is that the Montana Capitol was the first capitol in the nation to be wired for electricity.

On the capitol lawn is a statue of Thomas Francis Meagher, 19th Century Irish Patriot and U.S. Civil War General.  President Lincoln appointed him Secretary of Montana Territory, and twice its acting governor.

I have selected a few photos to share with you.  Hope you enjoy the time spent with us.
