Of interest, at one time Helena was the richest city of its size in the United States, and had more millionaires per capita than any city in the world at that time.
In 1936, there was a very devastating event that occurred; over 2,000 tremors were felt and lasted several weeks. This earthquake did over $5 million in damage.
In our two days of adventure here, we found it to be a clean, small, and friendly town. We consider this to be one of the "best kept secrets" for a destination trip.
